Dr. Rajilesh V K

Qualification: Ph.D (Botany)

Specialization: Bryology, Aquatic plants conservation and landscaping.

With over 15 years of research experience in the field of Botany, specializing in the collection conservation, and identification of plants. This experience includes extensive field explorations in wildlife sanctuaries, national parks, and aquatic/wetland habitats across South India for plant documentation and collection. Possesses expertise in the identification and conservation of bryophytes and aquatic plants, along with hands-on experience in establishing conservatories for various habitat-specific plant groups. Passionate about landscaping and aquascaping.
Authored 15 scientific papers and presented 3 research papers at conferences. Participated in numerous workshops and played a key role in coordinating and organizing exhibition stalls at major events such as the Vasantholsavam Festival, Kerala Science Congress, First Indian Biodiversity Congress, State Biodiversity Congress Exhibition, Swadeshi Science Congress, Lokha Malayala Sabha, Children’s Science Congress, and exhibitions hosted by various universities and schools, including the Kerala Literature Festival (KLF).
In the past four years, actively involved in the collection and conservation of Hortus Malabaricus plants, aquatic plants, and seasonal plants at HMBGRI. Also engaged in the development of various conservatories for aquatic plants, orchids, xerophytes, and other specialized plant groups.
